 A Week of Uneasy Feelings and a Call to Prayer

 

For the past week, I’ve carried a heavy feeling in my heart—a sense that something troubling might be on the horizon. It’s a hard thing to describe, but it feels like a dark cloud lingering just out of sight, leaving me both alert and prayerful. I don’t know exactly what’s causing this sense of foreboding, but I believe it’s a sign to seek God’s protection and guidance.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV)

Recent events have only heightened this feeling. News of a failed bomb attempt in New York sent chills through me. Perhaps that was the danger I sensed, but somehow, I feel that the threat isn’t fully gone. This is why I believe we must be intentional in prayer—prayer for our leaders, our communities, and our world.

Specifically, I feel called to lift up President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. As leaders of the United States and Israel, they navigate immense pressures—both seen and unseen. We should pray for their protection, for wisdom in their decisions, and for God’s hand to shield them from the schemes of the enemy.

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” (1 Timothy 2:1-2 NKJV)

In times like these, prayer is not just a comfort; it is a weapon against the darkness. I encourage everyone to pray against the plans of the devil, to pray for safety over our cities, and to ask that wisdom and clarity guide those in positions of power.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4 NKJV)

Even in an anxious week filled with uncertainty, I hold onto faith that God is in control. Let us unite in prayer, trusting that His protection and guidance will cover President Trump, Netanyahu, and all who work to keep our nations safe.
